San Antonio's Contemporary Arts Festival




Luminaria is produced by the artists and makers of San Antonio and advances the creative economy. Submit a proposal by May 5th to be part of the edgy celebration of contemporary arts.  

The multi-Arts festival is scheduling programming from November 9th - 13th with the epic night festival on Friday, November 11, 2016 (8 PM to Midnight).  The events will take place in Downtown East, a neighborhood rich in San Antonio’s African-American history and culture, and a booming hub of creative energy.  Luminaria's anchor artistic partner is the Carver Community Cultural Center, with neighboring landmarks to include the Hays Street Bridge, Dignowity ParkLockwood Park, and more locations to be announced.

Established in 2008, the contemporary arts festival Luminaria has astounded audiences with works by featured regional, national and international artists.   This unique San Antonio celebration of the arts presents new works and Texas premiers by dancers, actors, poets, comedians, filmmakers, musicians, designers, muralists, composers, and visual artists
