San Antonio's Contemporary Arts Festival

Established in 2008, the contemporary arts festival Luminaria has astounded audiences with works by featured regional, national and international artists.   This unique San Antonio celebration of the arts presents new works and Texas premiers by dancers, actors, poets, filmmakers, musicians, muralists, composers, and visual artists

Our 2015 night festival, scheduled for Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th in the River North neighborhood dealt with severe weather challenges.  After a successful Friday rain-plan event and weekend ticketed events, Luminaria is rolling out performances and art works by scheduled artists in a Take Two Series.   The first Take Two event took place in it's original vacant lot location on November 13th.

Mark your calendar!   Luminaria returns to the San Antonio Museum of Art on Friday, February 19th (8 PM -  Midnight) for a brilliant winter evening of multidisciplinary art.  Come watch dazzling performances of dance and experimental films on Wednesday, February 24th (7 - 10 PM) at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.  Both events are FREE and open to the public.    Ticketed events will include a dance workshop and an artist brunch.

Luminaria is produced by the artists and makers of San Antonio and advances the creative economy.
